The Azerbaijani manat (AZN) is the official currency of Azerbaijan, introduced into circulation in 1992 after gaining independence from the Soviet Union. One manat is subdivided into 100 qəpik. Banknotes are available in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 manats, while coins come in denominations of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, and 50 qəpik.
